You’re here because you want to capture your baby at this beautiful stage of life!
Whether your little one is sitting up for the first time, celebrating their first birthday, or already a lively two- or three-year-old, our goal is always the same—to create a joyful, relaxed experience that brings out their personality.
Cake or no cake, there are a few helpful tips that can make all the difference in helping your baby feel comfortable, happy, and ready to shine during their session. Let’s set the stage for beautiful memories you’ll treasure forever!
1 - Scheduling the Session
To help your little one have the best experience possible, we kindly ask that you avoid booking their session on the day of—or right after—any big events such as birthday celebrations, travel, or doctor’s appointments. A calm, relaxed lead-up to the session helps ensure your baby is well-rested, happy, and ready to enjoy the experience.
We'll aim to schedule the session shortly after your baby’s usual nap time, when they’re typically at their best.
If your baby becomes unwell—showing signs of teething pain, a fever, or illness—within 36 hours prior to the session, please let us know as soon as possible (with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice). We’re happy to reschedule at no cost.
If your baby arrives very unwell and is unable to participate in the session, a rescheduling fee will apply to cover the time and materials already prepared, such as your custom balloon setup. This fee starts at $150.
Thank you for your understanding and support in helping us create the most joyful and stress-free experience for your family.
2 - Who to bring?
To help create a calm and relaxed environment for your little one, we recommend limiting the number of people attending to two. A quieter space allows baby to feel settled and more responsive, helping us capture those beautiful, natural moments without being overwhelmed.
3 - For Those Who are Including Cake!
If this will be your baby’s first time tasting cake or frosting, I recommend giving them a little introduction beforehand—perhaps a fun play session with whipped cream or buttercream about a week before. This helps them get used to the texture and taste so the real thing isn’t a complete surprise!
That said, if you’d prefer the session to be their very first cake experience, that’s absolutely fine too! Just keep in mind—every baby reacts differently. Some dive in with both hands, while others might be unsure or even a little upset by the new textures. However your little one responds, I’ll be there to gently guide the moment and capture those sweet, genuine reactions that make this session uniquely yours - even if it includes a few tears!
4 - What to bring?
-Bringing along a few of your baby’s favorite small snacks can be a great idea! Sometimes little ones need a bit of encouragement to explore the cake, and familiar snacks can help ease them in. The smaller the snacks, the easier it is to sneak them in for a few sweet moments—and hopefully, they'll get a taste for the cake and dive right in!
-A towel for bubs
-Wipes
-Spare clothes for bubs and yourselves
-Bub's water bottle
Lastly!
Relax and enjoy your baby's memories being made!
See you soon - Liz
