So you're wanting to capture your baby at this beautiful stage of their life...
Whether your baby is a sitter, one year old, two year old, or three, we want the best chance of a happy baby at your session. Whether you include cake or not, some of these tips can be very helpful for your session.
1 - Scheduling the Session
Please avoid booking your baby's session on the day of or after a big event, including any scheduled doctor's appointments, birthdays, travel, etc.
A relaxed lead up to their session gives your bub more chance of being happy and not tired or overstimulated.
We will try schedule the session for right after your baby's usual nap.
If your baby is sick, teething or has a fever 36 hours before the session, please give me a minimum of 24 hours notice and we will re-schedule at no cost.
If you show up to your session and bubs is very unwell and not co-operative for photos, a re-scheduling fee will be incurred to cover the time and materials cost of your balloon set-up - the minimum fee is $150
2 - Who to bring?
We recommend limiting the amount of people attending to two. Having too many people in the room looking and trying to get bubs to interact may overstimulate them, and have the opposite effect of what we want to achieve.
3 - For Those Who are Including Cake!
Everybody loves cake! Well...sometimes not everyone! If this will be the first time your baby has tried cake or frosting, I highly recommend letting them try and play with cake and whipped cream or frosting at least a week before the session. We understand if you want the session to be their first experience, and as long as you are prepared that it could go either way, where they absolutely love it, or they might really dislike it, then that's ok! Either way your baby reacts will all be part of the experience and memories!
4 - What to bring?
-Some snacks that your baby usually loves, the smaller ones are better because if bubs isn't interested in the cake or doesn't love it at first, we can try use the snacks to help them explore and take a few photos until hopefully they have enough of a taste to dive in.
-A towel for bubs
-Spare clothes for bubs and yourselves
-Bub's water bottle
Lastly!
Relax and enjoy your baby's memories being made!
See you soon - Liz
